Warrant of Fitness (WoF)

Get peace of mind your vehicle is safe to drive
How we help

A WoF is a regular inspection to ensure your vehicle meets the required safety standards to drive it on the road.

Most privately-owned vehicles, 3,500kg and under, need a regular WoF. This includes cars, utes, trailers, motorbikes, and small trucks.

Passenger service vehicles, rental vehicles and heavy goods vehicles, all need a Certificate of Fitness (CoF) rather than a WoF.

At VINZ there is no need to book – just turn up during opening hours, when it’s convenient for you.

If your vehicle fails a WoF, you have up to 28 days to have it re-inspected free-of-charge. Within in this period, your vehicle may only be driven to a place of repair or inspection.
